Mr. Raj Patel had visited several other churches in Taiwan in the past few days, accompanied by Ms. Catherine Lee. And now, visiting our church, he gave us a wonderful and VISIBLE sermon. I was very impressed by what he said about the triangular relationship(s) of Self-discipline and Love and Power. (See photos below.)
In the afternoon Jean and I and our grandson Little Bee acted as "private tour guides" taking Raj and Catherine to the 921 Earthquake Museum and Mingtai High School, both in the Wufeng district (where we live). While walking on the campus of Mingtai High School, we had my good friend (and neighbor) Rev. Sam Cheng to join us . . . And when evening came, we returned to the church and had dinner at a restaurant nearby, together with our rector Rev. Lily, our senior warden Mr. Samuel Chen, and CEO of St. James' Preschool.
After being together with Mr. Raj from morning to evening, I strongly believe that he and I can be, or have become, very good friends. (He has even purchased through Amazon.co.uk a copy of my book A Story Untitled + 9 Other Stories, saying that he would be reading it soon!) The Lord bless you, Raj!
