Time to Rejoice: "主的慈愛永不離開你"

#2018-1216

On our way to church, Jean asked Little Shine if he could again sing The Mountains Shall Depart. He immediately sang out:
大山可以挪開,小山可以遷移,
但主的慈愛永不離開你;
大山可以挪開,小山可以遷移,
但主的慈愛永不離開你。
.           -- words from Isaiah 54:10

Oh, the 4-year-old boy’s voice is loud and clear. Jean and I always like to hear him sing. (See the video below, which was actually made and shared with us in November. Even when he was wearing a mask like that, he could sing quite well. Don't you think so?)

Little Shine's brother, Little Bee (as we called him before), is also good at singing. (See A Song Created by Little Bee 小蜜蜂自創的歌曲.) But he is now eight years old, a second grader at an elementary school in Taipei. If you ask him to sing, he may or may not do, depending on whether it is the right time for him. -- He, as well as his little brother, returned home from Taipei on Friday afternoon because he would receive the "scholarship" awarded by St. James' Episcopal Church, Taichung, on Saturday evening.

Jean and I have been grateful that the Lord our God grants us so much. Just as the candles on the Advent wreath represent (see photos), we are given Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. Well, it is the third Sunday of Advent today. We see "two purple candles and the pink candle" lit in our church. The third candle (in pink) represents Joy. What a great joy we are given!

Thanks to the Lord. And thanks also to Mr. Alex Tso (左心泰 弟兄), who preached this morning, explaining quite clearly the meaning of "happiness" and the significance of "great joy." In his definitions, having joy is much more than being happy! ... (See the last two photos below.)

"The mountains and hills may crumble,
but my love for you will never end;
I will keep forever my promise of peace."
So says the Lord who loves you.
