Praying for Jean's and My Mothers

#2019-0329

My mother was recently hospitalized for the 2nd time, staying in Jen-Ai Hospital from Monday morning to this morning -- The good news is that she's allowed to come home today!

Coincidentally, my mother-in-law has been staying in the hospital (Guangtian Hospital) since last Friday, when she accidentally fell to the ground and broke her left leg. She received an operation on the knee on Monday -- the day when my mother entered Jen-Ai!

Ah! Jean and I have been worried about our mothers. We went to the two hospitals, one after the other -- one in Dali and the other in Dajia, to visit our Dear Moms. What could we do? What should we do to offer a little more help? ...
God, be merciful to us; look on us with kindness. (Psalm 67:1)
Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. (Philippians 4:6)
God is our shelter and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not be afraid, even if the earth is shaken and mountains fall into the ocean depths; even if the seas roar and rage, and the hills are shaken by the violence. (Psalm 46:1-3)
Why am I so sad? Why am I so troubled? I will put my hope in God, and once again I will praise him, my savior and my God. (Psalm 42:5)

Happy Birthday 2019

#2019-0325

Last Saturday (Mar. 23) it was my birthday. My birthday again! But I forgot all about it until somebody reminded me of it.

In the presence of all others who were attending the Diocesan Convention of Taiwan Episcopal Church (台灣聖公會 第59屆教區年議會), my good friend Catherine Lee suddenly called me and loudly wished me a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Then, right before the second day's meeting sessions started, all people there in the Conference Room sang Happy Birthday together, to me! ...

And then, my son (Antony), who was also participated in the Convention, came to me and hugged me -- Oh, what a touching moment it was! I felt so good and happy there and then.

And then, I discovered that some of my friends, my relatives, my former students, or former colleagues had sent me their best wishes by Facebook, by LINE, or by Messenger. (I'm sorry I haven't replied to them yet, but I'd really like to say THANK YOU to each of them!)

And after I returned home, I was surprised that my daughter-in-law (Anita) and other family members had prepared to celebrate my birthday (Mar. 23) and my wife's birthday (Mar. 27) in a special way. -- Thanks to the Lord, for all beautiful and valuable things that we have been granted!

The Opening Service of the Diocesan Convention

#2019-0323

This year (2019) the Diocesan Convention of 台灣聖公會 (The Episcopal Diocese of Taiwan) took place from March 22 to 23, firstly at St. James' Church and then at Fushin Hotel (富信飯店), in Taichung. For a detailed report of it, you may refer to what Ms. Catherine Lee has posted on her blog:

TAIWAN EPISCOPAL CHURCH DIOCESAN CONVENTION, MARCH 22-23, 2019:

Here are the first 50 pictures I'd like to share, regarding the check-in time and the opening service at St. James' Church on the morning of March 22! -- Well, yes, all the following photos are taken by me, except one -- the photo of me reading Genesis 11:27-12:9; that photo is a copy from Catherine Lee's blog.
