When it suddenly rained, we walked quickly into the pavilion by the roadside to avoid getting wet.

突然下雨了，我們快步走到路邊的涼亭裡，免得被淋濕。

雖然強颱已遠去，三不五時還會下大雨；雨天路滑，上年紀的人在山坡上徒步要小心，否則摔跤就不得了啦！

The strong typhoon Hynnamnor had gone, but it rained heavily every now and then. On such a rainy day, the trail on the hillside is slippery, and elderly people must be more careful when walking there. Otherwise, they could fall and be badly injured.

So, you see, my wife and I took shelter from the rain; we stayed in the Wufeng pavilion for quite a while. From there I looked around and found some beautiful natural things, such as the dry branches in the sunset, and the flowers locally called "Powder Puff Flowers" (fĕnpū huā). Their shapes and colors, together with the good contrast between light and shade, are so striking!

沒錯！躲雨，就是我們在「霧峰亭」逗留的原因。從涼亭裡向外觀望，我看見不少美麗的天然。那晚霞中枯乾的樹枝、還有本地稱作「粉撲花」的花朵 . . . 形色光影，各具特色。
