We'll Miss You, Rev. Philip Lin (惜別晚宴)

The rector of St. James' Church, Rev. Philip Lin, will move to the Church of the Good Shepherd, in Taipei, at the beginning of February (2015). In the meantime we'll have our new rector, Rev. Lily Chang, coming from that church.

This "exchange" is going to take place so soon, at such short notice, that most of us as members of the congregation have felt rather upset these past weeks.

However, as they sing in Spanish, "Que sera, sera." -- Whatever will be, will be. "The future's not ours to see." (歌詞取自 Alfred Hitchcock 1956年電影 The Man Who Knew Too Much《擒凶記》主題曲) "Que sera, sera. What will be, will be."

So, as you can see, we have organized a very special party for our rector, Rev. Philip Lin. The special event took place this evening at Pin Hong Qiao (品虹橋), a restaurant near St. James'. And for some reason, we tried our best to make this farewell party as cheerful as possible. Oh, dear Rev. Philip, we'll miss you sooooo much!

惜別晚宴：林牧師做飯前禱告。

惜別晚宴：大家舉杯，彼此祝福。

惜別晚宴：林牧師、師母 逐桌敬酒，

雖是離情依依，大夥兒卻愛談笑、氣氛熱絡。

晚宴中有人起鬨，

要跟牧師、師母喝「交杯酒」。

惜別晚宴：差點變成「喜宴」的模樣，

總之，熱絡的談笑聲，總算能掩蓋心中的離情！

牧師贈送每人 (每家) 一罐「鹽」勉勵我們

憑藉 主 的愛，在世上做光、做鹽。

供我們閱讀、思索，及記誦！

固然有說不完的故事，而對未來，

也有諸多「有待實現」的憧憬！
