Last Thursday, I was still in Hualien, providing me with the opportunity to participate in the potluck meeting at St. Luke's Church in the evening. More than ten members of the "Bilingual Language Club" gathered to practice oral English during and after dinner.
This marked the inaugural dinner and English chat session for the Bilingual Language Club at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Apart from Rev. Antony Liang and myself, participants included Ms. Mandy and her husband Ben (accompanied by their 4-year-old grandson Arther), Mr. Rohitha from the UK, Ms. Trista from the USA, another Arther (quite talkative in English), Sam (the sole attendee wearing a mask that night), Owen (always sporting a smile during conversations), Function (whose name left a special and lasting impression on me), Jason (whose name reminded me of the Rev. Jason Ke), Jerry (whose English name coincidentally matches mine), and others.
After the meeting concluded, someone proposed the idea of meeting again at St. Luke's. Naturally, Rev. Antony warmly welcomed them to come and attend the weekly Thursday meetings if they wished.
Excitingly, about ten members of the Language Club, comprising both familiar and new faces, gathered to practice speaking English at St. Luke's this evening. Unfortunately, I had already returned to my home in Taichung and couldn't attend tonight's meeting. Nevertheless, my son shared a photo of those who participated in the language-practice session... (For this recent meeting, please refer to the 2nd photo from the bottom). 😀👀👂👄👏
