Today, thirteen of our good friends, whom we affectionately call the “Camel Brothers and Sisters,” went on a hike along the Water-Fetching Path (挑水古道). During the hike, they stopped at Donglong Temple (東龍宮), where they enjoyed some good tea and had a pleasant chat before heading back to Wufeng.
My wife and I did not join the hike this time. She had undergone an eyelid operation the day before, performed by another good friend of ours, Dr. Joseph Luo, at Gongyi Nobel Eye Clinic in Taichung City. Since she needed to take it easy after the operation, hiking was obviously not a good idea. Still, we did not want to miss the opportunity to spend time with our good friends, so we decided to join them for lunch.
The group returned to Wufeng and gathered at Yilu Restaurant (議蘆) in the Wufeng Provincial Assembly Memorial Park (省議會紀念園區). My wife and I arrived just in time for lunch, making fifteen of us altogether. Although we missed the hike, we were happy to join the group for a delicious meal and plenty of conversation. We all had a wonderful day together—a day of friendship, laughter, good food, and happy memories.
