Many years ago when we still lived there at Shuichangliu, we took and made good use of the spring water coming from that source. There at the high end of a small valley, the mountain spring had been crystally clear and safe for us to drink, so our dad built a "hidden well" to collect water that kept coming up through the ground, and made a pipe system to lead the good water home.
"Is that 'hidden well' (water tank with holes on all the sides but a heavy cover on top) still there? Or has it been damaged by heavy rain and landslides?" All of us brothers were very curious about that, and at once we dressed ourselves properly and started out for some "fieldwork."
