Little Shine 上學囉!

#2018-0828

It was John's first school day yesterday (August 27, 2018).

Look at the pictures (which were shared with us by the boy's mom soon enough), and you'll see how excited my second grandson was!

And my wife, the boy's grandma, wanted me to put these pictures into my blog Mookoo's Home so that we'll remember (or be able to recall) this exciting day in the future, just as we can now retrieve the information of John's elder brother's first school day by reading my blog post Little Bee's 上學囉!.

Oh, it's time for this younger brother to go to school. He's excited at it, and the whole family are happy about it. -- Congratulations to John, our second grandson, whom we also call "Little Shine"!

Piano Duet: 《雨驟風狂》

#2018-0821

秋 早已來到
夏之酷暑未遠離
窗外下著晚來雨
斗室中 雙孫四手聯彈
彈出《雨驟風狂》即興曲

Note (taken from the English Wikipedia):
According to the Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, there are two kinds of piano duet: "those for two players at one instrument, and those in which each of the two pianists has an instrument to him-or herself."
In American usage the former is often referred to as "piano four hands".

有愛 ● 有光 ● 有希望

#2018-0818

The title of the concert, showing the theme of this performance of music, attracted me so much:

有愛、有光、有希望
讓 Eye 聽見
護眼音樂會
2018.8.18台中市中興堂

Jean was given two tickets by Rita Chang (張瑜芳), our new friend who is as young as our only son. [Thank you, Rita!] And as Jean told me about it, I noticed that almost ALL the performers on the stage were blind, physically blind; and that this concert With Love, Light, and Hope (有愛、有光、有希望) was meant to Let the Eye Hear (讓 Eye 聽見), as well as for the Protection of the Eyes (護眼).

Look! -- And listen! ... In the phrase "讓 Eye 聽見", the English word "Eye" is pronounced exactly the same as the Chinese word "愛" (meaning love). My goodness, what an eye-catching phrase:
Let Love hear! ...
Let Love hear! ...
Let Love hear! ...

值得回味的時刻: Coffee Hour after the English Service

#2018-0812

It is Sunday, August 12, 2018 -- the 12th Sunday after Pentecost today. After the English service we had coffee hour as usual.

The coffee hour for today was hosted by Ms. Helen Chiang. She especially prepared two cakes -- two great, wonderful cakes in addition to other refreshments. She said, "One cake is for David, and the other is for Catherine." Oh, yes, we welcomed Mr. David Puckett back to us; he had just undergone surgery. As for Ms. Catherine Lee, this morning was her last time to preach at St. James' before she goes back to UK for a sabbatical.

The Lord bless you, David! -- Thank you for sharing good photos on Facebook. I'd like to duplicate some of them for my blog readers (see the first three photos below).

The Lord bless you, Catherine! -- I believe you'll have a wonderful sabbatical in your home country. Make good use of these six months so you'll have an enjoyable "long stay" and also very interesting visits in Great Britain. I've now reprinted a few pictures from my previous posts (see the last five photos below) hoping that these can remind you of some special moments in the past. Can you tell when and where these old photos were taken? -- In case you can't remember, I suggest that you refer to the Relevant Articles** below, especially (4) and (5).

* 附註 (Note): A special photo is added now! (See the 4th photo below).

James and John Leaving for Taipei

#2018-0807

Our daughter-in-law Anita "lined" us a few pictures: The first four photos below were taken by her in the living room just before they left for Taipei.

Notice that in the 3rd and 4th photos the right hand of Yeye (meaning grandfather, that's me!) has some interesting movements so the little boy's body is twisting and his facial expression looks so much in excitement. Ha ha ha! ...

And the final two photos (that is, #05 and #06) were taken also by Anita, but on the way to Taipei; it must be in one of the "service areas" along the freeway from Taichung to Taipei that the three of them were taking a rest. -- The Lord bless them wherever they are now!

Walking Together (小手拉小手)

#2018-0806B

This is the continuation of the story that I've previously posted: Summer Event No. 5, 遠足、郊遊.

But this morning not only James but also John, both of our grandsons, walked together with Jean and me to Hou-Shan Park (後山公園 or literally, Back Hill Park).

They'll go back to Taipei very soon and spend the rest of their summer vacation there. Jean and I hope that they'll have a good time everywhere they go or stay! ... The Lord bless our children and our grandchildren!
