The Light of Christ

As Jean and I had done for the past two years, we joined the Great Vigil of Easter this evening at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Hualien.

The service began at 7:30 p.m. and, in keeping with tradition, included the Lighting of the Paschal Candle (點燃復活蠟燭), the Liturgy of the Word (聖言禮儀), the Renewal of Baptismal Vows (更新洗禮誓約), and the Holy Eucharist (感恩聖禮).

Once again, I prayed that, with God’s help, we—together with our family, friends, and even those unknown to us—may be blessed in the name of our risen Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
