Blue Moon · Sea

Today is the last day of my grandchildren’s summer vacation. Both James and John will return to school tomorrow, as the new semester — for both elementary and junior high — officially begins on September 1.

It’s a bit of pressure for students and parents (and even grandparents). The teenagers can no longer sleep in, and neither can we who take care of them!

So, Jean and I decided to take our beloved new ninth grader out for a little relaxation. We came to a small but beautiful café on the Pacific coast. Located at Yanliao 54, Yanliao Village, in Shoufeng, Hualien County, the café is named Blue Moon · Sea.

Look at the photos below. Some of them were taken using mirror reflections, known as “天空之鏡” (Sky Mirror). Have you ever tried such a photographic technique before?

再次造訪「星巴克理想門市」

This afternoon, we revisited the Starbucks “Ideal Store” in Shoufeng, Hualien County.

I told James it would be better for us to finish some work or studying before going out to relax. The saying goes, All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy—true enough. But too much play and too little work can make him just as dull.

So, after spending some time working and studying, the three of us—James, Jean, and I—left our dorm around 3:45 p.m. and headed straight to that wonderful place, the Starbucks “Ideal Store,” which we had visited before. See photos below!

鯉魚潭+步道

Today was our first time on the Liyu Lake Trail, and it was a delight to wander in the shade of the trees. The trail loops around the entire lake, but with time short we made it less than halfway, by my estimate.

We’ll be back before long for another stroll and a fresh look around—of that I have no doubt.

第一次走「鯉魚潭步道」覺得很快意。走此步道，可繞潭一週。但這一回，時間有限，我們只走了不到一半的路程，我估計。

來日方長，我們會再來此「走走、瞧瞧」⸺這點倒是肯定的。無庸置疑。
