好友嫁女兒 (The Blessed Wedding)

#2010-1127

The wedding ceremony takes place at St. James' Church (in Taichung City, Taiwan) on Saturday, November 27, 2010. It is the wedding of Erica and her better half Zuojun Ye, and as I would like to let you know, it is one of the most blessed weddings in the whole world!

Erica is the daughter of my good friend Rev. Cheng, one of the priests in the Taiwan Diocese of the Episcopal Church (i.e. 基督教台灣聖公會). Bishop David Lai, the head of this diocese, especially comes to give a sermon and the blessings (See the 3rd and 4th photos in Collection #001 below). The ceremony goes perfectly well in accordance with the "Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage" included in the Book of Common Prayer; it is really a meaningful and impressive ceremony!

After the ceremony at the church, there is a splendid wedding banquet at Chao Gang Cheng, a popular restaurant in Taichung City, where many of my good friends who are also friends of the Chengs' come to the party. All of us have a wonderful time on such a special occasion; we do enjoy eating, drinking, chatting, and laughing!
