聖雅各慕德樓祝福奉獻感恩禮拜

The Dedication of St. James' Virtue Building

時間： Sunday, August 28, 2022, at 10:45 a.m.

This morning Bishop Lennon Yuan-rung Chang led us in the dedication of the newly-bought building, 慕德樓 (Mù Dé Lóu, or the Virtue Building), which is next to the Education Building (教育樓) and behind the Mission Building (宣教樓).

With gratitude we now pray that the Lord's Spirit be with us to make this place full of love so that more people who come here (or pass by) will know and praise Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. 

懷著感激之情，我們現在祈禱主的靈與我們同在，讓這個地方充滿愛，讓更多來到（或經過）這裡的人認識並讚美我們的主耶穌基督。阿們。

For Confirmation (堅振禮)

The Bishop lays hands upon each one and says

Defend, O Lord, your servant Annie Y. Tsai with your heavenly grace, that she may continue yours for ever, and daily increase in your Holy Spirit more and more, until she comes to your everlasting kingdom. Amen.

For Reception (接納禮)

Benjamin Edward Simmons, we recognize you as a member of the one holy catholic and apostolic Church, and we receive you into the fellowship of this Communion. God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, bless, preserve, and keep you. Amen.

The Bishop concludes with this prayer

Almighty and everliving God, let your fatherly hand ever be over these your servants; let your Holy Spirit ever be with them; and so lead them in the knowledge and obedience of your Word, that they may serve you in this life, and dwell with you in the life to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

8/25 補註：是「優游自在」還是「悠遊自在」呢？查何容主編的《國語日報辭典》僅有「優游」詞條，而無「悠遊」詞條。然而，根據王國良的部落格，到谷哥做關鍵字搜尋，若輸入 "優遊"，得 145 萬；若輸入 "優游"，得 52 萬；若輸入 "悠遊"，得 1,730 萬；若輸入 "悠游"，得 447 萬。由搜尋所得的資料量可知，悠遊一詞被用得最多，而優游一詞被用得最少。在我印象中，以前學校教的就是「悠遊」呀！目前台灣所所用的 EasyCard 中文叫做「悠遊卡」（簡體字 "悠游卡"）。

"西海岸" 最美的時刻

A Family Party at the West Coast Restaurant

This luncheon party was hosted by my wife's niece Elisa Huang, who wanted to express her gratitude to the members of the Huang family (in a broad sense!). She said she thanked everyone for their support and help as she was taking the Teacher Selection Exam (TSE / 教甄) to become a qualified (licensed) school teacher.

From my point of view, she deserves to successfully pass TSE and get a regular teaching job in elementary school because she has been studying and working so hard. The highlight of today's family reunion was in the final section, where she and her brothers took out two beautiful cakes (see photos) and celebrated their mother's birthday two days in advance.
