Today, Jean and over 20 of her former classmates gathered at Yongquan Park in Taichung City for this year’s alumni reunion. Ms. Shúchún Yóu, their retired PE professor from the Provincial Teachers’ Junior College, was invited to join as well. Four or five of us spouses and friends, including Wànshuāng Wáng, Yŏufú Huáng, Jĭnqīng Jiăn, and myself, attended the reunion and lunch. (Mr. Jīzhào Zhāng, a former school principal, joined us at the park in the morning, though he had to leave before lunch.)
We all enjoyed lunch together at LaLaport, a family-friendly shopping complex near the park. Everyone from the reunion, except for Mr. Jīzhào Zhāng, gathered there to eat and catch up. After lunch, we moved to another cozy spot on the fifth floor and continued sharing stories and updates. I spent most of this time with Mr. Jĭnqīng Jiăn, an artist, whose personal stories left a deep impression on me.
