This afternoon, while walking along Qixingtan Beach, Jean and I took quite a few pictures.

Besides capturing the beautiful scenery, we also photographed ourselves against beautiful natural backdrops: the bluish-gray mountains, the ocean in soft shades of blue and gray, and the sand, grass, seaside plants, and rocks in a rich variety of shapes and colors.

We both agreed that we should take more photos like the ones we took this afternoon. The sun was not too bright, the wind was not too strong, and everything—including ourselves in the photos—blended together in perfect harmony. Everything looked soft and gentle on the eyes, with the quiet beauty of a well-painted watercolor.

"Perhaps one day," Jean and I said to each other, "we would like one or two photographs from this private album to be displayed at our memorial service."
