A Trip to Taitung

Day Four (A)

We had originally planned to stay in Taitung for only three nights. However, captivated by the area's beautiful scenery and touched by the warm hospitality of our B&B hosts, we decided to extend our stay by one more day and night.

Instead of traveling to Kaohsiung to meet the other family at St. Steven's Church, we spent this Sunday leisurely exploring another corner of Taitung.

The hosts of Flower Blank House recommended that we have lunch at a seaside restaurant in Fushan Village, Beinan Township (卑南鄉富山村), such as one called Little Fish (小魚兒的家). With the help of GPS, we found the place without difficulty. The peaceful seaside scenery, together with the roadside vendors and shopkeepers, welcomed us warmly, making us feel at home even on this bright, hot summer day.

However, when we arrived, we found Little Fish so crowded with lunchtime diners that Jean and I immediately changed our minds. Following the GPS once again, we drove to another restaurant, SOBDEALL (沙伯迪澳橄欖莊園), which looked even more upscale—and, as we expected, was also more expensive. I believe it is located about halfway up the "holy mountain," Mount Dulan (都蘭山).

In the photos below, you'll first see seven pictures taken at Little Fish and along the nearby seashore, followed by fourteen photos of the set meal for two we enjoyed at SOBDEALL, higher up on the mountainside.
