第一單元：《古韻清揚秋水共長天一色》

第一單元，除了「開幕序曲」外，包含 (1) 雨霖鈴 by 柳永、(2) 聲聲慢 by 李清照、(3) 滿庭芳 by 秦觀、(4) 蒹葭 from 詩經．秦風、(5) 陋室銘 by 劉禹錫 .......... 到 (25) 大風歌 by 漢高祖劉邦，共 25 個節目／曲目。第一單元於上午演出；節目主持人：Ms. Meiyu Chen。

第二單元：《騷壇雅聚落霞與孤鶩齊飛》

包含 (26) 虞美人--聽語 by 蔣捷、(27) 西江月--遣興 by 辛棄疾、(28) 秋風詞 by 李白、(29) 醉花蔭 by 李清照、(30) 下江陵（早發白帝城） by 李白 ............. 一直到 (67) 漁家傲 by 范仲淹、(68) 天淨沙 by 馬致遠、(69) 送別 by 詞: 李叔同、曲: John P. Ordway 曲、定譜: 梅川 九然。第二單元有 44 個節目／曲目，於下午 (1:00pm-4:00pm) 演出；節目主持人：Ms. Jean Huang。

Riding Memories? -- 騎馬的回憶！

三個月前，小宣在家附近的本堂公園騎搖搖馬。

Three months ago my wife and I took our second grandson for a hike. On our way home we stayed in Bentang Park for a while, where Little Shine enjoyed riding a hobbyhorse. 

是不是每個小孩兒都喜歡騎搖搖馬呢？也許身為「大人」的我們，可以直接騎乘「記憶」，或藉著某種騎乘工具進入（騎入）記憶的國度！........

Can we adults ride a toy horse also? -- Or can we ride on (or into) something that we call "memories"? .... 

我突然想起，三年前，小宣的哥哥（小蜜蜂）在日月潭邊一家紙箱店裡騎搖搖馬的事。大人小孩回想起「騎搖搖馬」都很快樂啊！

It suddenly struck me that three YEARS ago my wife and I took our first grandson for an outing to Sun Moon Lake. By the lake, we visited a special store called Carton King (紙箱王), where Little Bee enjoyed riding a rocking horse.

On the Rocking Horse

"Grandma, nainai*, why don't you come-n-ride?" 
"I'm too old to ride," my wife simply replied.** 
But our little prince was now full of force; 
He gave an order, pointing to the red horse.*** 

In his yellow saddle he rocked hard to and fro, 
"Come on, nainai, be quick; don't be so slow!" 

"Oh, I see," my heart suddenly sang in me, 
"Only when one bravely dreams can he get free; 
Whether moving south or north, east or west, 
The wings of imagination must be most blessed." 

Anyway, the kid and nainai shared a good day,
And so did I, watching them on horseback play. 

-- What else should I say? 
-- Let me just pray: 

May the Lord bless all members of my family, 

including my better half and our parents, 

our children and our children's children!

Notes:
* Nainai means "Grandma" in Chinese. 
** The kid's nainai did not actually rock the toy horse; she lightly sat there, pretending that she was riding it.

三個月前（依照片檔顯示，實際拍攝日期為八月十二日星期六）我們祖孫三人一同 go hiking：先登上「明台中學」後面的山，沿著「中心壠步道」走到「立法院中部辦公室」的「後山林園」，再經由霧峰國小校園，穿過新造的「本堂公園」回到自己的家。

印象中，這是 Little Shine 頭一回走這樣的行程；或許不是他最長、最遠的一次「遠足」，但對剛滿三歲的小男孩而言，這趟路應該算是夠長、夠遠的了。不過他一路步履輕盈，一有什麼「新發現」（如最後五張照片所示）甚至蹦蹦跳跳，完全不覺得累的樣子。真的好棒！

八月中，Little Shine 和哥哥 Little Bee 就隨同父母「搬家」到南部去了。當爺爺、奶奶的，難免想念 ..................。於是，特將過去所拍的照片，拿來做一番整理，存入《木咕子的家》。

About three months ago, Jean and I took our grandson Little Shine with us for a hike. We went up the hill behind Mingtai High School, walked along the Zhong-Xin-Long footpath, passed through the Hou-Shan woods (which is part of Provincial Memorial Park), and then returned home via Wufeng Elementary School,  Bentang Park, etc.

It was Little Shine's first time to go hiking on this path. And it was a long walk for a three-year-old boy to take. But Shine was stronger than I had expected. He got through the "task"; and what's more, he looked very excited about what he saw on the way, for example, a map on the stone wall, a few pieces of exercise equipment in the playground, and a bird's eye view of the campus of Wufeng Elementary School. (See photos below, and see more on the next two pages!)

Obviously our second grandson (Little Shine) is smart, talented, and very energetic, just like our first grandson (Little Bee). -- Now both of them have been taken to southern Taiwan to live with their parents, Jean and I miss them a lot. That's why I have added to my blog (Mookoo's Home) these pictures which were taken in the middle of August.
