Confirmation (新主教來堂主禮)

#2020-0510A

Our new bishop the Rt. Rev. Lennon Yuan-rung Chang (張員榮主教) came to us this morning. It was his first time to celebrate at St. James' Church Taichung since he was consecrated as Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Taiwan on February 22 (see Catherine's blog post and mine). We were happy to be with him today, on the fifth Sunday of Easter, celebrating Holy Eucharist and having Confirmation...

Congregations to Andrew Szanajda, Alex Tso, Ian Liao, and D. J. Wang! -- These four men from the English congregation got confirmed this morning. All others witnessed this meaningful "event" by participating in the service. It was a wonderful and exciting scene to see! And, for me, it seems that all of us who have joined in this particular service have once again made our own Christian faith even more strengthened. -- May our Lord Jesus Christ bless YOU too, my dear readers!

生命的色彩 (Colors of the Life)

#2020-0508

* A paraphrase of the above lines is seen below.

Colors of the Life

We once argued about the green vines on the slope:
Are they plants of Luffa? or Calabash? or Pumpkin?

Now we will be arguing no more;
the hot weather has dried (and killed) this
imperfect life that will never bears flowers or fruits.

Nevertheless, exposed on this leaf (or page) are colors of the life.
