It became dark outside when our afternoon meeting (monthly St. James' Vestry Meeting 雅各堂牧區議會) was over. Trying to hurry home, I walked quickly toward The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (台中國美館) because in its parking lot I had put my car before attending this morning's English service. I walked as quickly as I could until I passed in front of the museum and was attracted to the eye-catching artworks displayed outdoors. Then I slowed down and even stopped to take a few pictures to share with you, my good friends and my blog readers!

美麗的邂逅 -- A Shining Encounter!

在離家不過 500 米的空曠地方，

我倆享受和煦亮麗的冬季日光；

原以為藍天白雲只在花東才有，

感恩致力改善空汙的勇者老少，

讓這裡的景色也變得清新美好。

In the open space less than 500 meters from home,

We both enjoy the winter sun that is shining warm.

Only in Huadong* can you find the blue sky and white clouds?

Thanks to the brave young and old fighting for air quality,

The scenery around is now pretty nice already!

* 花東 or Huadong: 指花蓮縣和台東縣, 即台灣東部地區; by Huadong, I mean the Hualien and Taitung areas, in Eastern Taiwan.

* 冬月：冬月就是農曆十一月。在中華民俗中，每一個農曆月份都有一些別稱，例如：

一月又稱正月、端月、征月、開歲等；二月又稱命月、如月、杏月、仲春等；三月又稱蠶月、桃月、桐月、季春等；四月又稱餘月、梅月、初夏、孟夏等；五月又稱皋月、榴月、蒲月、仲夏等；六月又稱且月、焦月、荷月、暑月等；七月又稱相月、蘭月、涼月、瓜月、初秋等；八月又稱壯月、桂月、仲秋、中秋、正秋等；九月又稱玄月、菊月、季秋、暮秋、窮秋等；十月又稱陰月、良月、初冬、開冬等；十一月又稱冬月、幸月、暢月、仲冬等；十二月又稱塗月、臘月、季冬、暮冬、殘冬、末冬等。網路上還可查到更多 "玲瑯滿目的" 其他稱謂，實在太複雜！

根據 iPhone 13 Pro 手機內建的行事曆，其中農曆月份的 "名目" (從年初到年底) 分別是：1 正月   2 二月   3 三月   4 四月   5 五月   6 六月   7 七月   8 八月   9 九月   10 十月   11 冬月   12 臘月。如此這般 (thus and thus; so and so; such and such) 就顯得單純許多。

              My Sunset Mindset

In a voice almost unheard, my heart said:

    Have you today done your homework yet?

    How about exercises to work up a sweat?

Then I told myself that even a pet (like a dog or a cat) 

    should not forever kept in their cage-beds, 

    without moving out to appreciate sunrise or sunset.

Oh, yes, I'd be very, very upset (or simply, I'd regret) 
    if I missed such gorgeous things as sunset, and all 
    other objects that I thought I should get, just as I forget all 

    the best novels or novelettes I have ever read!

Jintian, laopo jianyi women liang ren zai yici "gŭdào chóngyóu" -- xiangshou yixia zheli de kongqi han yangguang, wo xinran tongyi. Women shuo zŏu jiu zŏu, meiyou pianke de chíyí. Jiu zheyang, women zai yici zaofang le zhege meibushengshou de Tiāo Shuĭ Gŭdào*.
