Today is the first day of December and also the "First Sunday of Advent," marking the beginning of the church/liturgical year.
I was delighted to see so many "brothers and sisters" at St. James' Church this morning. Over the past two Sundays, I didn’t attend St. James' because one Sunday was spent camping in Nantou County with Jean, her mother, and other family members, while the week before, Jean and I visited St. Luke's Church in Hualien.
This morning, however, we returned to our church in Taichung. Reflecting on the significance of the new liturgical year, we decided to approach it in a more spiritually meaningful way. For example, we plan to read the Bible more frequently, pray with greater earnestness, and visit not only family and relatives but also good friends as often as we can.
