Day One: Leaving for Kending, in the south of Taiwan.
Due to a typhoon coming near (or possibly across) our place, the weather here has been unstable these days. Just as yesterday and the day before, it turned out to be a day of MIXTURE today, suddenly changing from "bright sunshine" into "dark clouds" or "heavy rains." I watched out for the possible typhoon, and so did my wife. But neither she nor I wanted to miss this special 5-day trip to Southern Taiwan. We had been looking forward to going on a vacation together with our children.
In fact, the trip was organized by Antony and his wife Anita. They invited us to join them, and they insisted on paying for our hotel expenses. My wife and I were very happy about their "filial affection" for us. And, to tell the truth, we have always been grateful to God our Lord for His granting us such a good son . . . and then a good daughter! [We'd like to treat Anita as our nuer (daughter) rather than erxifu (daughter-in-law).]
Now we have arrived in Kending. It seems that the typhoon is already gone. The weather here is better than we expected. Thanks be to God!
