海中天 (花蓮)

Here we are now at Hai Zhong Tian (海中天). It's really a charming place, especially on such a windy winter day!

Do you see the west coast of the Pacific Ocean? And do you hear the rough waves crashing on the shore?

Do you see the calligraphy and paintings on the wall in the coffee shop? (They tell the well-known story of Xiao Yao You, 逍遙遊, created by Zhuang Zhou, 莊子, ca. 369 BC - 286 BC; and also a modern sculpture 風七十...)

Do you see the five short bananas on the table? (They were special gifts from the coffee shop owner, a friendly woman who talked with us kindly.) Do you smell or taste something special right here at Hai Zhong Tian? (The name of the place literally means "heaven in the ocean" or "sky in the sea".)
