A Sibling Reunion at Ringo-Tango

It was another sibling reunion at Ringo-Tango (林果-探戈) in Caotun. 

As you can see, before I entered the cafe for lunch, I took a few pictures of the beautiful flowers that greeted us visitors at the front door.

We really had a good time today, chatting and laughing a lot. Like those dazzling flowers brightly smiling in the sunshine, we were all very happy and excited.

But we also talked about something serious: whether (and how?) to sell the piece of land shared by all of us siblings in our hometown, so that the proceeds can be divided equally among all brothers and sisters?

Revisiting Fr. Jason Ke

Last Tuesday Jean and I visited Rev. Jason Ke in Chiayi. It was our first time to visit him at his residence in Chiayi, and we went there together with our rector Rev. Chang and some other friends.

Now we got another chance to go and visit Rev. Jason; this time we went with Mr. and Mrs. Wang, as well as Shirley Ke, who's Rev. Jason's daughter.

In the evening Shirley and her husband treated us to a Thai dinner at a restaurant in Caotun. Oh, Thai food is a bit different from Taiwanese food, but I must admit it's delicious! 😅

We visited Rev. Jason Ke at his residence in Chiayi today.

He has been sick in the last few months and we all pray that with love of the Lord and the help of the medical team, he'll recover soon and be strong enough to visit us again at St. James', Taichung. For his health, I will pray every day from now on...

May the Lord bless us all and especially give our dear Rev. Jason what he needs most right now!

挑水古道的《啁啾》

《古道的啁啾》

我聽到了 . . . 真的

清楚地聽到　眾鳥

雜鳴：吱吱喳喳

吱喳、吱喳、吱喳

吱喳吱、吱～～～～

喳 (嗻)！牠們就在那兒

盡情地、雜而不亂地

共鳴：吱喳不間斷

不等我走近一瞧

群鳥　早已逃之夭夭

我瞪大眼睛四處搜尋

心想：好奇～～～怪！

牠們早就隱了蹤影

只留下孤單一片枯葉　高掛

在枯乾的枝椏間

偽裝成 (今日孔明的) 空城？

到了 (再翻閱本文的) 此刻

我依然聽見 . . . 真的

清楚地聽到且看見　那鳥

可人的形象及叫聲！

市原信太郎牧師 來訪

We have a distinguished guest at St. James' Church today: Rev. Shintaro Ichihara. (Note: The surname 市原 is pronounced Ichihara; the given name 信太郎, Shintaro.)

Rev. Shintaro came from Japan to attend the meeting of Anglican Liturgical Network in East Asia (東亞區聖公宗禮儀諮議會) just held in Taipei, Taiwan. After the meeting was over, he showed up as a visitor in our English service this morning; and then, together with our rector Rev. Lily, he co-celebrated the Holy Eucharist in the Chinese service at 11:00 a.m. 

My son had told me that Rev. Shintaro might come to visit us today; therefore, Rev. Lily and I (and also my wife, etc.) were all set to greet him warmly here. Now, for Rev. Shintaro's being with us today, we'd like to thank and praise the Lord!

九族文化村 (Part Two)

The 2023 cherry blossom festival (2023櫻花祭) at Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village started on February 6 and will end on March 5. We wouldn't want to miss this great opportunity to see cherry blossoms!

So the six of us (including Lifang Huang) made a special trip here today to enjoy all kinds of cherry blossoms in full bloom.

In addition to the cherry blossoms, there are many thrilling rides here, which fascinated my two grandkids James and John. Yes, they both enjoyed the Armada Invencible (無敵艦隊) and the Wild Raft Ride (大漩渦) very much, and said they would come again in the future.

Today all six of us took the Skyline (九族纜車) twice. On the second ride, we continued with the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway (日月潭纜車) to get over the peak to the other side of the mountain, where we looked down from a high place and enjoyed the beauty of Sun Moon Lake. Wow! The weather was good today, and so was the scenery over there. (For all this, I sincerely thank and praise the Lord.)
