Together with Jean and her former classmate Meiyu, I went to Erlin Town in Changhua County today to attend their annual class reunion, serving as their “safe driver.”

It was a cheerful occasion that left me with an unforgettable impression of many happy moments. We had lively conversations, shared lots of laughter, and even sang together as if we were still young!

Special thanks go to Xiqing Chen (陳錫慶), who provided his 秋園 (literally, “Autumn Garden”) as the venue for this year's reunion. Many thanks also go to the core organizers—Xiurong Liu (劉修榮), Xiuli Huang (黃秀梨), Rongrong Zhuang (莊容容), Qiongfeng Huang (黃瓊鳳), and Meiyu Jiang (江美玉)—as well as all the unsung heroes who worked behind the scenes. Their efforts and careful preparation made this year's reunion of the 磊磊 Class such a success.

By the way, 磊磊 was a name, or nickname, that they chose for their class at the time. Since then, they have continued to use it as an alternative name for “台中師專 66 己班.”

What impressed me most today, however, was that both Jean and I picked luoli (酪梨, or avocados) directly from avocado trees for the first time in our lives.

Besides attending Jean's alumni reunion, I also had the opportunity to see many familiar faces again—for example, Youzai Li, Wanshuang Wang, and James K. C. Chen, who are spouses of three members of the 磊磊 Class, as well as 尤淑純教授, a retired professor who was invited to join us.

I also met some new friends, including Mr. Hanqing Song (宋漢清) and Mr. Yihe Huang (黃義和). Mr. Song's self-introduction made me smile broadly. He said:

“本人名為宋漢清,字元明,號隋唐,別號商周。” 😁😄
