Welcome Back, Leighnae!

#2016-0703

Our preacher in the English service this morning was Ms. Leighnae Hanley. She had worked here at St. James' as an English teacher for three years by the time she returned home in 2014 (see photos attached to another article). Her coming again from afar -- from the US -- to visit St. James' made us so very excited.

By "us" I mean EVERY one of us who had met her before!

Look! We were so happy to have her with us celebrating Holy Eucharist (our rector the Rev. Lily Chang being the celebrant). During the service Leighnae gave us a wonderful sermon. Then the choir, led by Hans Geiger, sang a special song (Siyahumba) for the Lord and for her when people had received the Holy Communion. And, right after the service, we moved downstairs and enjoyed our Coffee-Hour on the first floor ... and in the garden!

Finally some of us (about 20 persons) invited our good visitor and friend to lunch at Pin Hong Qiao (品虹橋), a restaurant near the church. Like many others, Jean and I hope that Leighnae will have a really wonderful stay in central Taiwan this summer.
