The day before yesterday my wife and I took a walk along the trail (中心壠步道) that leads to Taiwan Provincial Council Memorial Park (省議會紀念園區). When walking down the steep slope of the mountain, we were surprised to see such a couple of beetles on the trunk of a tree; in our language, they are called 獨角仙, which literally means "Single-Horned Immortal(s)." -- Look! Only the male has a horn; the female has none.
