A Housewarming on Sunday Afternoon

#2016-0418

We attended a wonderful housewarming yesterday afternoon in Calvin Yeh and Erica Cheng's new apartment in Taichung City. (Erica and Kelvin are the Rev. Sam Cheng's daughter and his son-in-law!) From St. James' Episcopal Church came the Rev. Lily Chang (rector) and the Rev. Charles Chen (rector emeritus) with quite a few others who are "old friends" of the Cheng family.

Their "old friends," of course, include my family and me! Jean and I came to this special enjoyable event, and so did our daughter-in-law and our two grandchildren. If my son had not been out of Taiwan, he would have joined us in this party too. As we have been friends with the Chengs for a long time, we have never wanted to miss a housewarming like this!

During the housewarming yesterday, the Rev. Lily led a Prayer for the New Home: We sang, we prayed, and we read ... We used something beautiful (and spiritual!) to show our love and best wishes for the Cheng family. And then, as it would always happen this way, we enjoyed lots of chatting, laughing, and eating-plus-drinking. -- Oh, Lord, may you bless the Cheng family day and night, forever and ever! May you be with us also, wherever we are!
