No Hurry—Until Today

#2026-0103

A few months ago, when James passed the GEPT Elementary level (全民英檢-初級), Jean and I promised to treat him to a special meal to celebrate. However, the celebratory dinner was repeatedly postponed. James kept saying, “No hurry! It’ll be better to decide after some thought—I’m still busy now.”

Jean asked him several times whether he had made up his mind, but he remained “still busy” and “in no hurry” right up until this afternoon.

“Why don’t we go to Ba Fang Yue?” I finally said to James. “You’ve postponed the fulfillment of our promise for too long. Let’s decide now and enjoy it this afternoon, okay?”

In the end, the three of us enjoyed our own steaming hotpots at a cozy restaurant on the same street as our home, only a few shops away from St. Luke's Church in Hualien.
